SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER

DESCRIPTION
A cappella version of an old favorite hymn, featuring some harmonic dissonance. The melody is sung by the bass section and at times shared by the alto section. The score is minimally marked up in terms of expression, leaving the interpretation open to the conductor. We sang with a little rubato and rise and swell of dynamics. My choir greatly enjoyed singing this anthem. I
did modify some of the original lyrics at the request of my choristers.
